On June 30, 2012, two witnesses in Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire observed three red-orange lights passing silently over their terrace. The lights moved in the same direction, and the timing, description, and images matched typical Thai lanterns. The recorded westerly wind that evening explained the eastward movement. Although considered a classic case of Thai lanterns, its classification as "A" indicates that a conventional explanation was not entirely ruled out.
