Mysterious light seen in France during festivities

Summary

On July 14, 2012, during communal festivities in Oise, France, a witness observed an orange light moving silently from east to west. The object, which appeared as a luminous halo, moved in the direction of the strong westerly wind, suggesting it could have been a flying lantern. Due to the short duration of the phenomenon and the witness's lack of familiarity with such objects, the actual size and distance could not be accurately determined. The GEIPAN investigated the case but was unable to identify the individuals responsible for the launch. Ultimately, the case was classified as "B," indicating it was likely a Thai lantern.
