🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On August 2, 2012, at midnight and eight minutes, two people in Tarn-et-Garonne observed a luminous phenomenon that crossed the sky quickly and silently, leaving a trail behind. This testimony has all the typical characteristics of a fireball, that is, a meteorite fall. Although the BOAM database recorded several fireball observations that night, it did not include this case, likely due to the low number of surveillance cameras in the region. Additionally, the webastro forum mentions other witnesses who saw the same phenomenon, initially identified by an amateur astronomer. The GEIPAN classified the case as "B", suggesting it was likely a meteoroid atmospheric entry.
