🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In August 2012, a witness in Paris observed an orange light in the sky shortly after sunset. The light suddenly disappeared, followed by a dark, round object that changed direction before vanishing. Although the witness described an unusual event, the GEIPAN investigators concluded it was likely a solar reflection on an airplane. This kind of phenomenon is common in the Paris region during those hours, when planes fly through the sky and reflect sunlight at unexpected angles. The sudden disappearance of the light also matched the moment the plane entered the shadow.
