UFO in Chatenay-Malabry 2012

Summary

On August 19, 2012, a witness in Chatenay-Malabry observed two bright points in the sky. Initially, they appeared to move like airplanes, with lights similar to landing lights of commercial flights. Given that the area is near airports and frequently used by both civilian and military aircraft, investigators concluded it was likely an airplane. However, one of the objects changed direction unexpectedly, raising some doubts. This behavior, although unusual, could be explained as a common optical illusion with bright moving objects that fade in the night.

At the time of the investigation, the GEIPAN could not access aeronautical data to formally confirm this hypothesis. For this reason, the case was classified as "B", meaning a probable observation of an airplane. Although there are ambiguous elements, no conclusive evidence of an unexplained phenomenon was found.
