UFO in Attenschwiller 2012

Summary

On August 20, 2012, two witnesses in Attenschwiller observed a very bright orange object moving silently from north to south. Through binoculars, they noticed a halo and a faint trail. The event lasted less than a minute before the object dimmed and disappeared behind a house. Only one witness reported the incident to the GEIPAN. Although the light breeze from the southwest made a lantern unlikely, researchers considered the possibility of a satellite or meteor. Despite the lack of conclusive evidence, the detailed testimony led the GEIPAN to classify the case as "B", meaning an unusual but explainable phenomenon.
