Summary

On August 24, 2012, at 11:45 PM, a witness observed an oval light point circling in the cloudy sky for at least 30 minutes. The shape and movement of the object led to the consideration of a spotlight used in nightclubs. However, a local nightclub denied using such a device. The proximity to Lyon-Satolas Airport also raised doubts about the use of such equipment. Despite this, investigators from GEIPAN concluded that the case was likely a light display, classifying it as "B".
