🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On September 10, 2012, around 20:20, two witnesses observed an orange luminous phenomenon with a long tail moving slowly at high altitude. The trajectory was straight, and it disappeared to the south, hidden by a cloud. Only one witness briefly reported the observation. Although not particularly strange, this case is poorly documented and imprecise. The description could suggest an airplane contrail visible through low clouds. The orange color is common in contrails located to the west during sunset, as was the case there at 20:13 that day. However, the GEIPAN does not have enough concrete elements to confirm this hypothesis. Due to lack of information, the case was classified as "C".
