On a sunny day in Grasse, in the French region of Alpes-Maritimes, an intriguing observation was recorded on September 15, 2012. A witness, curious about a silent object moving across the sky, took two photographs. The object, with a violet-blue color and elongated shape, was moving in a southeast to northeast direction. Although the witness noticed the movement aligned with the wind, he could not accurately determine its direction due to his position on the balcony. The object's description resembled a helium-filled festive balloon. After analyzing the case, the GEIPAN classified it as a probable observation of a festive balloon.
