On September 23, 2012, a driver and his companion observed several round, luminous objects appearing and disappearing among the clouds. No other witnesses were reported, complicating the investigation. The witnesses were traveling southwest, and the weather in Clermont-Ferrand indicated a strong southerly wind and a mostly cloudy sky. The objects could have been metallic balloons reflecting sunlight. Given the wind direction opposite to their movement, the balloons appeared almost stationary. Although the balloon hypothesis is plausible, it could not be confirmed with additional evidence. Due to the lack of supporting information, the case was classified as "C".
