Athis-Mons 2012, observation of bright points

Summary

In September 2012, a witness in Athis-Mons observed bright white points in the sky. The case reached the GEIPAN in 2015, when the witness recalled the event. The same silent trajectory was seen three times. Although no other witnesses were found, the characteristics matched those of Thai lanterns. These are often launched during private celebrations and extinguish progressively. The witness's video showed successive disappearances, typical of their end of life. The GEIPAN classified the case as likely of terrestrial origin.
