🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
A pilot reported observing a green meteor on December 13, 2012, while flying over Toulouse. The object was seen moving east to west at an estimated altitude between 45,000 and 60,000 feet. Although the pilot described the appearance as typical of a meteor entering the atmosphere, the date coincides with the peak of the Geminids meteor shower, a well-known meteor shower that occurs around this time of year. Several observers and automatic cameras reported multiple meteors on December 12 and 13, but the GEIPAN received no other simultaneous testimonies of this event. Ultimately, the case was classified as "B," meaning a likely observation of a meteor fall.
