Toulouse 2012 luminous phenomenon on highway

Summary

On December 28, 2012 at 9:45 PM, a witness driving on the A61 highway near Toulouse observed an unusual luminous phenomenon. While traveling, they noticed two horizontal white lights very close and at low altitude, followed by a central white light illuminating the ground. Then, the lights turned off and 6 to 8 rectangular light spots blinked in yellow and orange. The witness stopped at a gas station, but trees blocked the view. Despite the highway being very busy, no other reports were received. The investigation found no additional witnesses, complicating the interpretation of the event.
