🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On the night of January 2, 2013, a driver noticed several orange spheres in the sky. His description matched that of typical Thai lanterns: slow-moving glowing objects visible for a few minutes. This period of the year is known for the release of such lanterns, especially during celebrations. A light west wind was recorded in Vannes, but on land it was likely milder and coming from the south, which could explain the movement of the lights toward the north. The GEIPAN classified this case as "B," indicating it was likely Thai lanterns.
