🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
A witness in Brest (France) reported in February 2013 a recurring phenomenon every fifteen days at the same hour: a very bright point of light passing over his house and suddenly disappearing. After analysis, the GEIPAN concluded that the observed object was the third stage of the Zenit-2 rocket, part of the Cosmos 2297 satellite, launched in 1994 and still in orbit. The exact match between the observation time and the moment the satellite entered Earth's shadow confirmed its identity. Although satellites are often visible under these conditions, they are not always observable due to weather. The case was classified as "A", indicating a clear and verifiable explanation.
