🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On February 16, 2013, a witness in Moissieu-sur-Dolon (France) saw an orange glowing ball crossing the sky from east to west in just three seconds. The object moved silently along a straight path, suggesting at first glance an atmospheric entry of a meteorite. Although the witness reported no visible trail and a spiral-like movement, these features are not incompatible with the hypothesis of a rare astronomical event. The GEIPAN, the French organization that investigates unidentified aerial phenomena, did not record any other sightings in the area or at that time. There are no cameras covering the region to confirm the event. Despite some unusual characteristics, the case was classified as "B," meaning a likely observation of a fireball.
