On the night of April 13, 2013, a couple in Gardanne (France) observed three white and orange glowing points moving silently in a straight line. The witness had enough time to record two videos of the phenomenon, which is unusual in UFO cases due to the difficulty of visual documentation. There were no other witnesses, limiting the possibility of confirming additional details. Although the most plausible hypothesis points to Thai lanterns, the lack of constant wind made verification difficult. However, the weather indicated weak and variable winds, compatible with a three-minute observation and a slow speed of the objects.
The description of the phenomenon, with a very bright core surrounded by an orange halo, matches the typical appearance of lanterns. The GEIPAN classified the case as "B," suggesting a likely observation of this type of object. Despite the classification, the absence of other testimonies and the visual nature of the phenomenon leave open questions that are not easily resolved. This case, although not definitive, adds another piece to the complex puzzle of unidentified aerial phenomena.
