On June 2, 2013, at midnight, four people in an apartment in Bethune observed six luminous shapes silently crossing the sky from north to south-southwest. The phenomenon lasted at least one minute, sparking curiosity and attention. Although only one testimony was collected, the GEIPAN investigators concluded it was likely Chinese lanterns released after a private party. The movement direction matched the north wind recorded in Lille, supporting this explanation. However, the witness did not accept this hypothesis, keeping some mystery around the case.
