On June 12, 2013, a witness observed a silent, orange-lit disc moving across the sky before disappearing into the clouds. The object's appearance and movement clearly resembled a Thai lantern. The witness mentioned having seen others before, forming a constellation-like pattern, which is unusual on weekdays. However, a local who rents event venues in the area explained that lantern releases are common at weddings and that weekday trials also occur. This case might be one such trial. Although the recorded wind was from the south, the local topography—specifically the river La Risle running along a steep bank—could explain unusual low-altitude wind patterns.
