🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On July 25, 2013, a witness in Saint-Malo observed three white points forming an equilateral triangle in the sky. The GEIPAN linked this phenomenon to the passage of the YAOGAN9 satellite triplet, which can reflect sunlight for a few seconds, creating visible flares. The triangular arrangement of the satellites matches the witness's description. However, discrepancies in the perceived size of the triangle raised some doubts. Despite these inconsistencies, the close temporal and spatial coincidence with the satellite's passage led the GEIPAN to classify the case as likely.
