Summary

On July 28, 2013, at 3:20 AM, two witnesses in Ardennes (France) observed two red-orange, flat circular lights moving in a straight, slightly ascending path across the sky. The phenomenon lasted between one and two minutes, with no unusual sounds reported. Although only one testimony was collected, the description of multiple red lights moving together during a Saturday night suggested the use of Thai lanterns, often released after celebrations. Despite the weather showing weak and unstable winds, which made the hypothesis uncertain, the GEIPAN classified the case as "B"—likely a Thai lantern observation.
