🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On July 11, 2013, a witness in Jaunay-Clan observed silent, luminous objects moving in a straight line from north to south. The objects had a rectangular shape with rounded edges. The GEIPAN considered the possibility that they were objects carried by the wind, temporarily hidden by trees. The witness provided an animation showing this movement. Although the Futuroscope park is nearby, it was not in the witness's line of sight. That day also marked the start of summer nights in Jaunay-Clan, which could explain festive lights. However, the direction of the objects suggests more likely a lantern release near the Clain river. The GEIPAN classified the case as "B", likely Chinese lanterns.
