Summary

On August 31, 2013, a witness in Saint-Léger-aux-Bois (France) observed a very bright point among the stars. The object, which emitted a light that increased and then decreased, moved in a straight line upward until it disappeared. Although the testimony was unique, it was quite precise. The GEIPAN concluded that it was a solar reflection on the Iridium 95 satellite, a phenomenon known as a "flash". This type of event, although rare, is well documented and explainable. The case was classified as "A", meaning an observation attributed to a known cause.
