Summary

On August 20, 2013, three people in Beau lieu (Isère) observed an orange glowing ball silently moving across the sky. The phenomenon, seen traveling from northwest to southeast, was initially mistaken for a Thai lantern. Meteorological data confirmed a north wind, consistent with the observed direction. The video recording supports this explanation. While lantern launches are more common on weekends, they are not rare during the week, especially in summer. The GEIPAN classified the case as "B", considering it likely a Thai lantern observation.
