🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
A pilot flying a Cessna 150 reported seeing an oval-shaped yellow object moving at high speed northwest of Metz, France, on August 21, 2013. The plane was flying from Colmar to Liège, and the object appeared at the same altitude, moving from north to south. Although the witness did not specify the duration of the observation, the lack of distance information makes it difficult to estimate the object's actual altitude. It could have been a very bright and distant object, such as a meteorite or space debris entering the atmosphere. However, official records do not show any such entry on that date. Another possibility considered was a solar reflection on another aircraft. Given the lack of sufficient data to confirm any hypothesis, the case was classified as "C" by the GEIPAN.
