🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
A photographer was trying to capture a multiple star image when he recorded an unusual luminous object. Unlike the stars, which moved during the five-minute exposure, this object remained fixed, though it showed a slight trace suggesting partial movement. The GEIPAN analyzed the image and concluded it was likely a solar reflection on a satellite. The "Calsky" data indicates that the satellites NOSS 3-3A and 3C were in the area of the sky photographed. Although there is some uncertainty about which satellite caused the phenomenon, it is believed that NOSS 3-3C could have produced a more intense and variable glow. Additionally, the black trace observed in the image is attributed to JPEG compression artifacts, reinforcing the conventional explanation of the case.
