🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On the night of September 8, 2013, a couple in Saint-Loubes observed a formation of about thirty white light points moving in a straight line from east to west. The phenomenon was silent, with no blinking lights or trails observed, which generated some curiosity. Although not an unusual case, the description fits the typical behavior of Thai lanterns. These are often released during celebrations such as weddings, and in this case, the Saint-Aignan castle had indeed hosted a wedding the previous night. Despite the witness being 800 meters away, it was not possible to confirm a direct link with the wind due to its variability and local conditions. Ultimately, the GEIPAN classified the case as "B", likely attributing it to Thai lanterns.
