🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On November 28, 2013, a driver in Saint-Vigor-le-Grand (France) heard an explosion and saw a bright yellow flash in the sky above a field, surrounded by thick black smoke. The phenomenon disappeared quickly, leaving no trace. Another witness, on a nearby road, also looked in the same direction, but no further testimonies were collected. Although it might initially seem like an unidentified flying object, the GEIPAN classified the case as a "flare", due to the sequence of sound, light, and smoke. Although the origin of the launch could not be determined, it is speculated that it may have been caused by a pyrotechnic device.
