🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On December 29, 2013, at 5:45 AM, a witness in Steinbach observed a light emerging from the clouds and a sparkling disc. The object remained static for only two seconds before quickly disappearing behind the clouds. The witness described the object as a slightly tilted, light yellow disc seen through a gap in the clouds. The location of the observation points to the southeast, near Cernay and Mulhouse. Despite the brief nature of the observation and the presence of clouds, the GEIPAN concluded it was likely the Moon in its last quarter, though with some uncertainty due to the difference in elevation estimation.
