Summary

On the night of January 1, 2014, a witness in Pontoise observed five orange glowing spheres in a cloudy sky. The objects appeared one after another, moved in a straight line, and disappeared within about twenty minutes. Although the testimony is detailed and well-documented, no other sightings were reported. The witness recorded videos with excessive zoom and out-of-focus shots, which made it hard to identify the objects clearly. The GEIPAN report suggested the possibility of Thai lanterns, but the witness rejected this explanation.

The case was classified as "B" by the GEIPAN, indicating a likely observation of terrestrial objects such as lanterns. However, the witness insists the objects were much farther away, between 10 and 15 km, contradicting the official hypothesis. Despite the lack of additional testimonies and the limited quality of the recordings, the case remains intriguing due to the precision of the account and the discrepancy between the witness's perception and the technical evaluation.
