A couple walking in Bourg-en-Bresse on March 18, 2014, around 8:30 PM, observed four constant pale orange lights forming a dark trapezoidal shape. The lights moved silently at a constant speed in a straight line, which caught the witnesses' attention. After looking away, the object had disappeared. The GEIPAN classified the case as "B", suggesting it was likely Thai lanterns released after a celebration. The lights were moving in the same direction as the wind, supporting this hypothesis. Additionally, the Gestalt effect could explain the perception of a dark shape when observing multiple moving lights. Although the person responsible for the release was not identified, meteorological data aligns with the observed direction.
