🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On March 20, 2014, at around 10:45 PM, two people in Saône-et-Loire observed three orange glowing points moving silently and quickly across the sky. The objects were in formation and disappeared one after another. Although only one testimony was collected, the description of the objects and their movement clearly suggested the use of Thai lanterns. These are usually launched on Saturdays or Sundays, and their direction matched the light southerly wind. Although springtime or a carnival could have prompted a local celebration, the town hall of Clessé did not report any such event. Ultimately, the GEIPAN classified the case as "B", considering it likely to have been Thai lanterns.
