🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On March 14, 2014, a driver and his daughter witnessed a luminous phenomenon moving at high speed across a cloudy sky. Through the windshield of their car, they saw a bright spot followed by a short trail that crossed part of the sky in about one second before disappearing over the horizon. Although it might initially seem like an unidentified object, the GEIPAN classified the case as "A," meaning identified. The most plausible explanation is that it was a fireball, a rocky space object entering Earth's atmosphere at high speed. Several witnesses reported the event online, and a video was even recorded in the Catalan region of Spain. This case is a classic example of how natural phenomena can be mistaken for unexplained objects.
