Aerial lights in Vaucluse 2008

Summary

In July 2008, several witnesses in the Vaucluse region observed lights moving in formation. The phenomena appeared and disappeared for 20 minutes without making any noise. One witness recorded the event and another took photographs. The investigation revealed that it was the Patrouille de France performing aerial exercises. The AlphaJet aircraft used nose-mounted lights to improve visibility. The timings matched the air displays. The formation of eight aircraft and then four confirmed the sightings.
