In March 2014, a resident of Pulnoy, in the French region of Meurthe-et-Moselle, observed cylindrical and luminous objects in the sky while closing their shutters. The witness, who had previously had similar experiences, described strange shapes that caught their attention. A neighbor also reported bright lights, though they compared them to normal stars. After an investigation, experts from the GEIPAN concluded that the observations were likely optical illusions caused by the witness's vision problems, such as cataracts and presbyopia. It was expected that after a scheduled operation in August of that year, the episodes would stop. In the meantime, the case was classified as category B, indicating that it was likely stars seen by someone with impaired vision.
