UFO seen in Essonne in 2014

Summary

In May 2014, a mother and her daughter in Essonne observed an orange glowing mass slowly moving northeast. Initially, they thought it could be an airplane or a burning hot air balloon, but the object did not lose altitude and disappeared behind some trees. Although the testimony was singular, the object's path matched the wind direction. However, its shape and the day of the week (Monday) were unusual for a lantern. The possibility of an airplane was also considered, but it could not be confirmed. Ultimately, the GEIPAN classified it as likely a Thai lantern.
