On May 31, 2014, a witness in Pauillac (Gironde) observed a group of orange glowing balls for a few minutes. The event occurred around 11 PM on a Saturday night, and the witness, looking westward, noticed the objects appeared stationary. The "horns of abundance" shape perceived by the witness was likely an optical illusion caused by the alignment of the lights, which were almost aligned with the light wind direction.
According to meteorological data, there was a light west wind of about 10 km/h in the Bordeaux area. This information, combined with the witness's description, led investigators to conclude that it was most likely a case of Thai lanterns released after a celebration. No other testimonies were collected, so the case was classified as "B," meaning a probable observation of such objects.
