On June 13, 2014, an observer in Chollet (Maine-et-Loire) was using his new telescope to look at the stars when he noticed two bright points moving together, maintaining the same distance between them. The witness lost sight of the phenomenon in a very starry sky. Although there was only one witness, he provided sketches and a photograph. The UFO (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) showed unusual characteristics, but after investigation it was determined not to be an unidentified object, but a pair of U.S. military satellites NOSS-3 6. These satellites have a trajectory, brightness, and angular distance consistent with what was observed. The photograph did not show the UFO itself, but the area where it disappeared. The witness likely confused the binary star 16 Cygni with the UFO due to its similar appearance. This case was classified as "A", meaning a mysterious observation resolved as a misidentification.
