A witness observed a very bright orange light, almost static, between two trees at dawn on July 3, 2014. The light disappeared after two minutes. The report concludes that it was the star Capella, which that day was at an altitude of 15° in the northeast direction. This position and altitude explain the fixed appearance and orange color, typical of stellar scintillation at low altitude. Additionally, the presence of clouds justifies the quick disappearance of the phenomenon. The window orientation and tree location also align with the reported direction, reinforcing the astronomical explanation.
The GEIPAN classification A indicates that the case was satisfactorily resolved without the need for non-conventional hypotheses. The witness's description, although brief, was enough to identify the object as a known star. This type of case, although seemingly mysterious, often has simple explanations based on astronomy and atmospheric conditions.
