🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
The COSNE-COURS-SUR-LOIRE case in France on July 5, 2014, was investigated by the GEIPAN. Two independent witnesses reported an aerial phenomenon that, based on the description, seems to match what is known as "celestial lanterns." Although it cannot be confirmed whether both sightings were simultaneous, the high consistency of the case (0.8) suggests the phenomenon did occur. The low strangeness of the case (0.3) indicates it is something common, like so-called "Thai lanterns." The GEIPAN classified this case as "B," meaning it is very likely to involve such objects. If the potential launchers had been identified, the case could have been classified as "A."
