Orange ball over Aix-en-Provence

Summary

A citizen observed a luminous ball in Aix-en-Provence on July 5, 2014. The witness, from his window, saw an orange glowing point moving silently, stopping, and then disappearing very quickly. Initially thought to be a Tibetan lantern, the description of the movement and speed of disappearance didn't fully match. The GEIPAN report considered the object could be a lantern, but no on-site investigation was conducted due to the low strangeness of the case. The witness, familiar with aviation, ruled out the possibility of an airplane.
