Summary

On July 17, 2014, around 12:15 AM, a witness observed a yellow-orange luminous point in the sky. The object displayed an unusual trajectory: it moved in a straight line, descended, turned around, and ascended in a zigzag pattern before disappearing quickly. No other witnesses were available to confirm the observation. The GEIPAN, the French organization responsible for investigating unidentified aerial phenomena, concluded that the object could have been the star Arcturus followed by the satellite ISIS 1. However, the possibility of confusion or a false memory could not be ruled out entirely, as there were not enough objective elements to confirm the identity of the object.

The case was classified as "C," indicating that neither the observation nor a possible confusion could be verified. Although factors such as time, duration, direction, and satellite visibility were considered, no definitive agreement was reached. The phenomenon of micro-nystagmus, an optical illusion that can alter visual perception, was also taken into account. Despite the investigations, the case remains ambiguous and without a conclusive explanation.
