Summary

On the night of July 25, 2014, a driver observed a bright orange-red sphere between the French towns of Saint-Pierre-de-Plesguen and Meillac. The object was seen for a few minutes and appeared to move from south to north, opposite to the direction of the driver's vehicle, which was traveling north to south. Initially considered a possible Chinese lantern released after a private party, the movement did not align with the reported light northerly wind in the area. The witness rejected the lantern hypothesis, and no other testimonies or records of space debris or meteorite entries were reported at the time. Due to the lack of precise information and corroboration, the GEIPAN classified the case as "C".
