On a cloudy August night in 2014, a witness in Saint-Martin-de-Séignanx (France) observed an unusual aerial phenomenon. At 22:40, while in his garden, he noticed three round white lights arranged in a V shape and a red light moving silently below the clouds. The object accelerated and disappeared without a trace. Despite unusual weather conditions, including dry lightning and a covered sky, no other witnesses or evidence were recorded.
GEIPAN researchers considered the possibility of a ball lightning, a rare but known phenomenon. However, some details of the testimony, such as the stability of the lights and the presence of a red point, did not fit this explanation. Additionally, the perception of a triangle enclosing the lights could be a visual illusion known as "Gestalt." Without further proof or additional testimonies, the case was classified as "C," meaning unresolved due to lack of information and corroboration.
