Tournefeuille 2014, Fireball Captured by GEIPAN Cameras

Summary

On August 17, 2014, a witness in Tournefeuille observed a bright fireball with a short yellow-white trail. The phenomenon was fast, very luminous, and lasted only a few seconds. At the same time, the GEIPAN, located in Toulouse about 12 km away, recorded the same event using a surveillance camera. The footage, taken at 21:11, shows the phenomenon in the upper left corner of the circle, pointing southeast. Due to the match between the eyewitness account and the recording, the case was classified as "A," meaning a certain observation of a fireball.
