On December 11, 2016, a driver in La Réunion observed a luminous phenomenon in the sky. She described two reddish streaks topped by a rectangle, which remained still before rising and fading away. The single witness considered it an atmospheric phenomenon, and although unsure, the most likely explanation points to clouds lit by the setting sun. At that time, Venus was shining brightly in the sky, but the observer didn't notice it, possibly due to its position or a cloud covering it. Estimations of altitude are often inaccurate without terrestrial references, making it hard to confirm the exact nature of the phenomenon.
