A driver in Paris observed a white, elongated object in the sky on January 13, 2015. Around 8:40 AM, while driving along the city's perimeter, he noticed an object that appeared stationary or barely moving. He took three photos through the windshield. The witness lost sight of the object after leaving the perimeter. Although the case wasn't considered strange, the perception of stillness generated interest. The testimony is solid, with precise data and photos that helped the investigation.
Analysts concluded the object was likely a commercial airplane and its contrail. At that time, the sun was not yet visible from the ground but was already illuminating the plane from above. Weather conditions and perspective made the contrail appear as a single, stationary object. The persistent contrail explained the observation's duration, which lasted over 10 minutes. Finally, the case was classified as "A", meaning a normal observation of an airplane and its contrail.
