Summary

In August 1947, a witness in the Vendée region of France observed a bright object moving rapidly from east to west. The object suddenly stopped for 30 seconds before disappearing at high speed. The testimony was reported to the GEIPAN in 2014, more than 67 years later, which raises questions about the accuracy of the memory over time. Although the phenomenon could be explained as a PLOT (Phénomène Lumineux Orageux Transitoire), similar to a fireball, the cylindrical or parallelepiped shape described by the witness does not fit the typically spherical nature of such phenomena.
