🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On June 14, 2014, a witness in Trans-en-Provence observed a dark, spherical object emerging from a residual thunderstorm cloud. The object moved slowly and silently from north to south, and although the witness recorded a video, it only showed the object for two seconds. In the footage, a clearly visible dark, roughly spherical object reflecting sunlight could be seen. Eventually, the object disappeared behind another cloud. Researchers from the GEIPAN considered the possibility of a balloon, either hot air or helium-filled. However, the meteorological data from the area were conflicting due to the unstable weather and the complex local topography, making confirmation impossible. The case was classified as "C," meaning no conclusive verification could be made.
