Summary

On August 17, 2014, a witness in the Dordogne region observed and recorded a series of luminous lines in the sky. Initially, these lines seemed unusual, but upon analysis, they were identified as aircraft contrails. The exceptional visibility that day allowed the witness to see planes at greater distances than usual. Because of this, the contrails appeared shorter, slower, and more or less vertical, depending on the plane's trajectory relative to the observer. Additionally, local weather conditions could affect the appearance or disappearance of these contrails. The photos taken by the witness confirmed without doubt that these were aircraft contrails. The location of the observation was near a heavily trafficked air route, especially on summer evenings, which increases the likelihood of such phenomena.
